Ivoti is a city known as “city of the flowers”, located in Rio Grande do
Sul – Brazil. The town is part of Rota Romântica, which attracts many tourists
because of the climate European.

History
It is considered a city that has German and Japanese culture and has the
most enxaimel houses in Brazil.
Ivoti was colonized by two brothers of family Berghan and your first
name was Berghanschneiss, that means “line of berghan”. Firstly, the city was occupied
by livestock in the 18h century but only in 1824 that German immigrants was
settled in this area.
Before, it was recognized like Berghanschneiss, Ivoti was called “Bom
Jardim” because the lands were favorable to plant flowers. In 31th March, the
city was officially known by “Ivoti” that means “flower” in Tupi-Guarani
language, reason why it is known as the “city of flowers”.
Culture and Entertainment
You can enjoy the parties that happen in Ivoti, like the “party of
rosca, mel and nata” in May, “party of the flowers” in October and “kerb” in
January. All of them celebrate the German culture, with typical bands, dance, German
parades and much food. Beyond these parties, has another one called
“Kolonistenfest”. This party celebrates in July and it is a tribute to
immigrants that came to colonize Ivoti, valuing their job and their culture .

Cachaçaria Weber Haus
You must visit “Cachaçaria Weber Haus”. A alembic built for Weber Haus
family in 1948 was the beginning of the cachaçaria, that was modernized and
passed from generation to generation. The Weber Haus cachaça was the most awarded in
Brazil. There you’ll find different types of cachaça, liquors and other types
of alcoholic beverages.
Japanese community
Locality where the first Japanese immigrants of Ivoti settled. There
you’ll participate of events like “Undo Kai” that is a sport gymkhana, “Enguei
Kai” (cultural performances like karaoke), softbol (sport similar to baseball)
and gatebol (sport similar to cricket).
Cascade of São Miguel
Located on the border of “Dois Irmãos”, the cascade is the point where
is conserved one of first hydroelectrics of Rio Grande do Sul. Pure water
perfect to swim.
Museum Claudio Oscar Becker
Open Monday to Friday, the museum is organized inside of an enxaimel
house and show for the tourists how was a house of German family. The
decoration of the rooms and the kitchen is with appliances and furniture of the
20th century. A perfect place to discover how German family was
formerly.

The broader historical architecture in the city is composed of
half-timbered buildings legitimate, represented by building with apparent wood
structure and is there where you’ll take some amazing pictures and will feel like
you’re in Germany.
