History: On October 26, 1732 officially began settlement Tramandaí when Manoel Gonçalves Ribeiro gained an allotment to which the region belongs. This part of the region became known as Stop the Shells. At this time small straw huts-sedge marsh began to emerge, farmers and visitors to the fishing season.
Geography: It is located at a latitude 29 59'05 "south and longitude 50 º 08'01" West and its altitude is 8 meters above sea level. Its estimated population in 2010 was 41,655 inhabitants and a population density of 254.85 inhabitants / km ². It has an area of 143.76 km ² and its CEP 95590-000.
